An OGILF ascends to the height he deserves, with COLIN FIRTH claiming the Oscar for Best Actor in The King’s Speech!

Half a century of greatness comes to fruition in this beautiful specimen of man.

WELL DESERVED.

(Although, Dude, we still respect your venerable OG-ness. Note how Sandra Bullock didn’t knock Colin for being nominated twice in a row? That’s what we call foreshadowing.)

Is it ever too early for an OGILF? It never is, it just never is.

If you haven’t heard, an IBM robot computer recently competed on Jeopardy and actually stood up pretty well versus Ken Jennings (an OGILF of the future…a FOGILF, if you will). This led to USA Today running an article on a robot potentially taking the gloriously mustached Trebek when his contract is up. Which brings us to…

REASONS OGILF LOVERS SHOULD BE UP IN ARMS:

1) A robot could never uphold the studly, sparsely haired chest charm of this beautiful specimen.

2) Trebek says that Jeopardy!’s obsessives should “get a life.”

3) He loves fixing sprinklers.

4) Taking the OG out of Jeopardy loses all the hot grandmothers of the world without eye candy whilst they learn trivial facts in their golden years.

THROWBACK!

I spy two top notch OGILF’s! What could be better than two of our all time favorite OG’s fraternizing with one another at the same event?! Alec Baldwin and Richard Gere looked pretty friendly at the 14th Annual ARTWALK NY at the Metropolitan Pavillion in November of ‘08. I’d imagine the conversation they were having went a little something like this:

Richard: Alec, you are undeniably one handsome and talented fellow.

Alec: Richard, I want to thank you. You are a true gentleman. Let’s do some shots.

We hope that the lucky lady in the middle was able to appreciate the magic of this moment… From the looks of it, she was quite pleased to be in the presence of not only one but TWO of our greatest OGILF’s :)

OGILF in the news!

Colin Firth, noted OG many would L to F, has recently raked in six trillion awards for his role in The King’s Speech, and is projected to win this year’s Oscar for his work as well. This OG made a stutter less debilitatingly awkward and more triumphant, and for this we must applaud him. Stay O, you G!

Also nominated are Jesse Eisenberg (not even close to OG status), fellow OGILF Javier Bardem, complete nutjob James Franco, and a man who not many would L to F but is an OG nonetheless, Jeff Bridges.

Welcome to OGILF, the new interactive experience for ladies and gents of all ages who have suppressed their desires for the silver foxes of the entertainment industry and beyond for far too long. Our goal here at OGILF is to spotlight a certain Old Guy (we’ll let figure out the rest of that acronym ;) that we or a reader suggests would be a great spotlight once a week. The criterion to be an OGILF is as follows:

- must be aged 50 or older

- must be an established entertainer

- must have distinct, desirable qualities
